David Cantwell

CROSSVILLE — April 25, 1944—Feb. 14, 2013

David Arnold Cantwell, 68, of Crossville, passed away Feb. 14, 2013. Funeral services were held Feb. 17 from the Chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Burial was in Wood Cemetery in Fentress County. Pastor Roland Smith officiated.

He was born April 25, 1944, in Detroit, MI, the son of William B. and Dulah Dalton Cantwell. He loved his cattle and horses and worked many years as a cattle broker. He was also a United States Army veteran, having served during Vietnam. He was a member of the NRA and the National Cattleman's Association. He was also a member of Central Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Cantwell of Crossville; daughters, Cindy Akins and her husband, Chris, of Blaine, TN, and Laura Howard and her husband, Josh, of Corryton, TN; and grandchildren, Cyleigh Akins, Cambry Akins, Lyndley Howard and Kade Howard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Caitlyn Akins, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers were McKinley Belvin, Randall Clark, Alan Dalton, Chris Hammock, Donnie Lawson and John Wheeler.

Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
