CROSSVILLE — Jan. 10, 2013

Wenton O. Holland, 73, of Pikeville, passed away Jan. 10, 2013, at his home. A celebration of Wenton’s life was held Jan. 13, with Bro. Ken Norris and Ricky Mooneyham officiating. Burial was in the Pikeville City Cemetery.

He was of the Church of God faith and attended the Mt. Crest Church of God of Prophecy. Wenton worked for La-Z-Boy for more than 20 years. He was an avid outdoorsman. Wenton loved to hunt, fish and enjoyed tolling around in his garden.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Holland; parents, Aaron and Oma Holland; brothers, Grady and Milton Holland; sister, Ila VanWinkle; and a niece, Crystal Watson.

He is survived by his daughter, Maronda Shea Swafford; brother, Parker (Alice) Holland; sister, Wilma Johnson; nieces, Harley Angel, Sharon Holliday, Gina Tremble, Misty Angel, Deanna Gifford, Crystal Angel and Janet and Janice Hale; nephews, Gary Cordell, Rocky Ross, Timmy Newport, Keith Ross, Wade Newport, Scottie Ross, Shane Angel, Alex Angel, Mikey Neely, Ben Angel, Jamey Johnson, Jim Holland and Trey Melton; special friends, Jeremy Mooneyham, Barbara Ann Mooneyham and Betsy Mooneyham.

Charles Presley officiating. Interment was in Algood City Cemetery, with full military honors provided by Veteran's Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends today, May 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Ralph Reagan officiating. Burial will be in Haley's Grove Cemetery.

Visitation was held May 13 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, with a memorial service at 6 p.m. The Rev. Bill Harvey and the Rev. James Arland Anderson officiated. Burial will be private.
