CROSSVILLE — Dec. 5, 1928—Feb. 20, 2013

Dr. Aaron Grover "Bud” Gray, age 84, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Feb. 20, 2013, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. A memorial service will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home in Crossville Saturday, March 9, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Bill Bateman officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bilbrey Funeral Home.

He was born Dec. 5, 1928, in Kankakee, IL, the son of the late Grover and Lillie (Dahling) Gray.

Mr. Gray was retired from Peoria, IL, School District 150, where he was instrumental in working towards the original public law providing for the education of all disabled individuals. He was a Professor at both Bradley University in Peoria and also at Illinois State University in Normal, IL. He served in the United States Marines during the Korean War. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sarah Evelyn Gray of Fairfield Glade; daughter, Cynthia Gray-Shipman of Powell, TN; sister, Ardis Horner of Kankakee, IL; and six nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Col. Leroy Frazier; sister and brother-in-law, Nelda and Helmuth Schierenbeck; son-in-law, William L.Shipman Jr.; and nephew, Lance Schumaker.

Daniel Luke Gibbons (Cadillac), 58, of Crossville, passes away May 6, 2013, at Tennessee Veteran Hospital in Nashville. Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home May 9, with Bro. Charles Presley officiating. Interment was in Algood City Cemetery, with full military honors provided by Veteran's Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends today, May 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Ralph Reagan officiating. Burial will be in Haley's Grove Cemetery.

Visitation was held May 13 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, with a memorial service at 6 p.m. The Rev. Bill Harvey and the Rev. James Arland Anderson officiated. Burial will be private.
