William McCoy

CROSSVILLE — Dec. 28, 1940—March 2, 2013

William Dean McCoy, 72, was born in Cumberland County to Oley and Gertrude McCoy Dec. 28, 1940. He passed away surrounded by his family in his home in Clarkrange March 2, 2013. The family will receive friends today, March 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First Freewill Baptist Church in Crossville. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m., with his son Mike McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Cold Springs Cemetery in the Catoosa Wildlife Management Area.

Being an efficient jack of all trades, he had his hand in everything, but his main occupation was a truck driver. He was a loving father and enjoyed fishing, woodworking, ginseng hunting and four-wheeling through the woods.

He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Mary Lou Beaty McCoy; sons, Mike McCoy and Pat and Trent McCoy and Karen; daughters, Teresa Watts and Jackie, Sherry Guinn and Tony, and Lisa Hargis and Frankie; grandchildren, Dustin McCoy, Travis Watts, Kara Massengale, Jude McCoy, Chris McCoy, A.J. Guinn, Tyler Guinn, Ali Guinn and Nicole Cravens; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. McCoy was preceded in death by his parents, Oley McCoy and Gertrude Elmore McCoy; first wife, Louise Ledbetter McCoy; grandchild, Amanda McCoy; brother, Herbert McCoy; and sister, Faye McCoy.

Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
