CROSSVILLE —
Raymond Edwin Smith, 72, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away Jan. 29, 2012, in a local hospital. Services will be held today, Wednesday, at 1 p.m. in the chapel at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike, in Soddy-Daisy, with the Rev. Don Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was a life-long resident of Soddy-Daisy and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Raymond had just retired from J.C. Penney after 29 years of service. He loved going to flea markets and fishing.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beulah Smith; brothers, Gene and Arlin Smith; and sisters, Nona Watson and Mary Ann Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 51 1/2 years, Earlene Seals Smith; daughters, Lynne Maynard of Soddy-Daisy and Gayle Kennedy and husband, Bruce, of Oneida; brother, James Smith and wife, Rosa, of Vermont; grandchildren, Jennifer Parker and husband, Thomas, Joshua Kennedy and wife, Hali, Adam Cox and wife, Johnnie, Daniel Kennedy and wife, Jessica, Heather Maynard, Shannon Maynard and Andrew Kennedy; great-grandchildren, Jessica Thomas, Rylee Parker, Kiara Kennedy, Tara Cox, Zoey Kennedy and Nolyn Kennedy; along with several nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Watson, Eddie Watson, Randy Watson, Gary Smith, Rick Smith, Aaron Watson, Tracey Smith and Tim Ford.

Lou Ella Kemmer
Our beautiful angel, Lou Ella (Turner) Kemmer, 70, went home to be with the Lord May 18, 2012, after an incredible and courageously fought battle over the past several months. The family celebrated her life May 21 in her home church, the Church of God on Sparta Hwy., where she raised her family. Bro. Gene Burgess officiated the service. She was laid to rest at Grassy Cove United Methodist Cemetery.

Otto Wheeley, 90, of Johnson City and formerly of Lafayette, passed away May 21, 2012. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home in Lafayette. Interment will be in Macon County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight, Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m., and tomorrow from 9 a.m. until the service.
