Jay W. Blaylock

CROSSVILLE — Jay W. Blaylock, 82, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 8, 2012. Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home Nov. 13, with Bro. Harold Parrigin officiating. Interment was in Green Acres Memory Gardens with full military honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard.

He was born Feb. 25, 1930, in Overton County, the son of the late John and Bessie (Bilbrey) Blaylock.

Mr. Blaylock owned and operated Jay’s Barber Shop for 43 years. He was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Floy (Atkinson) Blaylock, of Crossville; son, Trace Blaylock of Conway, MA; daughter, Angela Snyder and husband, Tommy, of Georgia; sisters, Marie McNeal and husband, Burton, of Crossville, and Anna Campbell of Hartsville, TN; sister-in-law, Hazel Blaylock of Crossville; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Blaylock; sister, Juanita Qualls and husband, Guy; seven infant siblings; granddaughter, Tessa Whittenburg; nephew, Nicky Finley; and niece, Evelyn Qualls.

Pallbearers were Nathan Blaylock, Greg Blaylock, Brett McDonald, Ryan Molthen, John Wilbanks and Matt Hedgecoth.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.

The family received friends Tuesday, June 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. EDT at Evans Mortuary, with funeral service following at 7 p.m. President Charles Watkins officiated.     Mrs. Wanda Hicks, 61, of Crossville, passed away June 13, 2013, at Jamestown Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held June 17 at Jennings Funeral Home-Clarkrange Chapel. A private burial will follow at a later time in the Springs Chapel Cemetery.

    Jerry David Wyatt, 75, was born on April 14, 1938 in Crossville, to Robert and Fannie Wyatt, and passed away on June 14, 2013. He was a truck driver and enjoyed farming, mechanics and welding.
