Marilyn Webb

CROSSVILLE — Feb. 18, 1943—Feb. 26, 2013

Marilyn Joy Webb, 70, went joyfully to meet her Lord and Savior Feb. 26, 2013, at Cumberland House in Crossville. Husband and hero, Terry, was by her side. Celebration of Life services will be held Sunday, March 10, at 3 p.m. at Fairfield Glade Community Church, 521 Snead Dr.

She was born Feb. 18, 1943, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Richard S. and Mary A. (Erfourth) Peterson.

Marilyn Joy is survived by her husband, Terry; sons, Richard L. Webster Jr. (Jean), Mark S. Webb (Wendi), Todd L. Webb (Edie) and Jeff A. Webb (Debbie); brothers, Richard C. Peterson (Jeanne) and Kris S. Peterson (Patricia); brother-in-law, John Zuke; nephews, Johnny, Eric and Richard; nieces, Lisa, Rebecca and Beth; grandnephew, Nathan; great-grandnephew, MacKenzie; Auntie Ruthie Blake; Uncle Brutz Benson (Auntie Bert); great-uncle Holger Peterson (Monica); several grandchildren and many cousins.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn Joy was preceded in death by sisters-in-law, Ruth Anderson (Peterson) and Barbara Zuke (Webb); several aunties, uncles and cousins.

During her childhood growing up in Kipling, MI, Marilyn Joy delighted in playing cards and games with wonderful friends and relatives at Grandpa and Grandma Erfourth’s house in Gladstone, MI. Ice skating, shooting her Daisy rifle and riding her bicycle were among her favorite activities. She especially liked the bike rides when her adored little brother Kris was sitting in the basket.

Marilyn Joy graduated Gladstone High School in 1961.

On March 28, 1977, she married Terry Webb at Seek and Ye Shall Find Chapel in Lexington Park, MD. She rejoiced in motorcycle trips with her Hero Terry, running special 5k events, bicycle rides, reading, writing, playing cards, bowling and pushing her cats around in their stroller.

She worked in various civil service positions within the U.S. Navy, and later as a contractor with Veda, Inc. Marilyn Joy and Terry lived for a time in Italy, Sicily and Maryland before retiring in Fairfield Glade.

Marilyn Joy loved Jesus and enjoyed telling everyone she met about Him. With a forever smile on her face, Marilyn was truly a joy to be with.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be in the form of donations to Hospice of Cumberland County, 30 East Adam Street, Crossville, Tn. 38555 or Fairfield Glade Community Church, 521 Snead Drive, Fairfield Glade, Tn. 38558.

Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

    David Edward Hood, 58, of Crossville, passed away May 10, 2013. Funeral services were held May 12 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Bro. Billy Norris and Bro. Jerry Harris officiated. Burial was in Martha Washington Cemetery in Fentress County.

    Funeral services for pastor Ottis Ramsey, 84, of Cookeville, were held  May 13 from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial followed in Judd Cemetery.

    Stephen Douglas Padgett, 51, of Crossville, passed away May 3, 2013, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville. Funeral services were held May 5 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home. Bro. Ken Clayton and Bro. Larry Long officiated. Burial was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.

    Daniel Luke Gibbons (Cadillac), 58, of Crossville, passes away May 6, 2013, at Tennessee Veteran Hospital in Nashville. Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home May 9, with Bro. Charles Presley officiating. Interment was in Algood City Cemetery, with full military honors provided by Veteran's Honor Guard.

    Billy Vaughn Barnwell, 51, of Crab Orchard, TN passed away on May 10, 2013 at Cumberland Medical Center. The family will receive friends today, May 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Ralph Reagan officiating. Burial will be in Haley's Grove Cemetery.

    Herschel “Andy” Anderson, 78, of Hixson, went home to be with the Lord May 10, 2013. Visitation was held May 13 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, with a memorial service at 6 p.m. The Rev. Bill Harvey and the Rev. James Arland Anderson officiated. Burial will be private.
