CROSSVILLE —
Marion H. Grubbs Jr., 80, of Crossville, passed away April 10, 2012. Funeral services will be held today, April 13, at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held April 16 at 1 p.m. at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home in Piqua, OH. Burial will follow in Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney, OH. Pastor Gary Robbins will officiate both services.
He was born July 10, 1931, in Kossuth, MS, the son of Marion Sr. and Nora Jones Grubbs. He was retired from the aggregate industry as a plant manager and was also the owner of Grubbs Trucking in Port Jefferson, OH.
He and his wife, Betty, moved to Crossville in 1995 where he worked with Livingston Limestone. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served in the greeters ministry and was active in his Sunday school class. Because he loved to cook, the Bethlehem Senior Luncheon Group was a very special part of his fellowship there.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Betty Grubbs of Crossville; sons, Dave Grubbs of Columbia, TN, and Bret Grubbs of Houston, OH; daughters, Janie Leonardo of Jeffersonville, IN, and Lisa Supinger of Troy, OH; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews who were very special to him.
The family respectfully asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Bethlehem Baptist Church Building Fund.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
