Much loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Cora "Ruth" Elmore Burgess, was called home Oct. 4, 2012. Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home Oct. 6, 2012, with Dr. Ronnie Mitchell officiating.
Born to John and Emma Elmore in Crossville Sept. 24, 1943, she was the youngest of 10 children. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Mazelle Pruitt, Dimple Norris, Dorothy Wilbanks, Martha Daves and Edward Elmore, and beloved in-laws, Jesse "Red" Burgess and Nell Turner Burgess.
Her hobbies included flowers, pets and visiting friends, but most of all she enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her four grandchildren. She had many precious friends and was a member of East Ridge Baptist Church for several years.
Survivors include Verble Bruce Burgess, her lifelong love and husband of 51 years; daughter and son-in-law, Royce and Tammy Pruitt, of Dandridge, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jennifer Burgess, of Signal Mountain, TN; and grandchildren, Jonathan and Sara Pruitt, of Whittier, CA, Jessica Pruitt, of Knoxville, and Nathan Burgess and Amelia Burgess of Signal Mountain, TN. Also left behind are her siblings, Mary Edith McNew, Betty Maxwell, Jack Elmore, Joseph and Thelma Elmore, all of Crossville, along with Jerry and Myra Burgess, of Chattanooga, TN, and Elmo and Georgia Burgess, of Macomb, MI, and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were David Williams, James Edward Elmore, William Locklear, Josh Locklear, Jackie Elmore, Joshua Elmore and Steve Daves.
The family would like to give special thanks to friend and neighbor Julia Grimes, and their faithful pastor Ronnie Mitchell. God has shown love and mercy through many of his people.

Charles Christopher Parsons was born March 14, 1927 ,in Crossville, TN. Charles went home to meet his Lord and Savior in his home surrounded by his loving family. The graveside service will be today, May 24, at 3 p.m. EDT at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Ronnie Capes will perform the service. There will be no prior visitation.

Ethel Mae Nealon, 70 of Crossville, passed away May 15, 2013. Funeral services were held May 17 at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Bro. Mike Kerley officiated, with burial in Crossville City Cemetery.

Harold Francis Mason, 86, of Crossville, passed away May 19, 2013. A funeral Mass was held May 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Fr. Antony Punnackal, CMI, officiated. Full military honors were given.

Charles Howard Eroh, 88, of Crossville, TN passed away on May 21, 2013 at Cumberland Medical Center. Graveside service will be held today, May 24, at 1:30 p.m. EDT at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on East Governor John Sevier Hwy.

She was born July 4, 1970, in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of Jack Cooke and Sylvia (Pennicuff) Cooke. -
