CROSSVILLE — Dec. 30, 1944—Feb. 25, 2013

Denvil Anderson Bowman, 68, of Crossville, passed away Feb. 25, 2013, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home Feb. 28, with Bro. David Harris officiating. Interment was in Mayland Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 30, 1944, in Overton County, the son of the late Lonnie Reece and Ruth Elizabeth (Pippin) Bowman.

Mr. Bowman was a Realtor and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Lee (Slagle) Bowman of Crossville; son, Anthony Troy Bowman of Crossville; brother, Hollis Bowman of Muddy Pond; and sisters, Earlene Lewthwaite, Kathleen Wyatt and Maureen Pierce McCowan, all of Crossville, and Beulah Long of Sweetwater.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Domer Bowman and J. Thomas Bowman; and sisters, Leta Mae Boles and Janie Tabor.

Pallbearers were Johnny Witsell, John Witsell, Treven McCaskey, Danny Phipps, Wayne Slagle, Eric Garrett, Charles Dixon and Rodney Staggs.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
