CROSSVILLE — Dec. 16, 1941 — Nov. 23, 2012

David Anthony "Tony" Griggs, 70, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 23, 2012.

Mr. Griggs was born Dec. 16, 1941, in Chattanooga, the son of the late Ernest P. and Madeline (Mynatt) Griggs.

He was retired from Delta Airlines. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed playing games on his computer, especially sudoku and cards.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Griggs of Crossville; daughter, Sheila Griggs of North Carolina; stepdaughters, Michelle Lopez of Georgia and Katherine Malino of Texas; brothers, Tim Griggs (Kay) of Cleveland and Andy Griggs of Oak Ridge; aunts and uncles, Fosteen Griggs of Rock Springs, GA, Marie Reed of Rock Springs, GA, Richard and Carolyn Mynatt of Oak Ridge, and Harold Griggs of Lexington; nephews, Rance Reed of Rock Springs, TN, and Dewayne Griggs of Cleveland; best friends, Roy and Geneva Crownover of Rogersville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David W. Griggs.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.

Charles Christopher Parsons was born March 14, 1927 ,in Crossville, TN. Charles went home to meet his Lord and Savior in his home surrounded by his loving family. The graveside service will be today, May 24, at 3 p.m. EDT at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Ronnie Capes will perform the service. There will be no prior visitation.
