Florence Marie Cerden

Sept. 26, 2006

Florence Marie Cerden, 88, passed away Sept. 26, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, in the chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home with the Rev. Lou Kujawski and Pastor Byron Morgan officiating. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 1, at 2:30 p.m. at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo, OH.

Born in Canton, OH in 1917, she was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Charles and Lottie Marie Anthony; her husband of 24 years, David Ellsworth Cerden; and a brother, Oliver Anthony.

She retired from Libby Glass in Toledo, OH in 1981 after 13 years of employment.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Charlene Cerden of Acworth, GA; sisters, Betty O'Mealey of Crossville, TN and Beverly Halt of Bowling Green, OH; granddaughter, Leah Joy and husband Jason Testa of Atlanta, GA; grandson, David Matthew Cerden of Dallas, GA; and great-grandchildren, Mikayla Grace Clark, Lydia Testa and Jocelyn Testa.

Michael O. Duffy

April 11, 1932 — Aug. 25, 2006

Michael Oriely "Mike" Duffy, 74, of Crossville, passed away Aug. 25, 2006. A private family service will be held Monday, Oct. 23, at 11 a.m. at Arlington National Cemetery.

Mr. Duffy was born April 11, 1932, in Oklahoma City, OK, the son of Edward and Amy Koger Duffy.

He was a retired communication technician and a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II. He was a very active man and a member of several organizations, including the American Legion, VFW, LADD Chapter in San Francisco and the Cumberland County Elks Lodge in which he served as trustee. He loved to RV and was an avid reader especially of current events.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Duffy of Crossville; son, Pat Duffy and wife Joanne of Vallejo, CA; daughter, Maureen Bardwell and husband David of Napa, CA; brother, Pat Duffy and wife Audrey of Boise, Idaho; sisters, Eileen Smith of Reno, Nevada and Anne Keys and husband Bob of Lacombe, LA; grandchildren, Kevin and Tammy Bardwell and Matthew Duffy; great-grandson, Kyle Bardwell; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Crawford.

James Music

Oct. 7, 1919 — Sept. 21, 2006

James "Jay" Music, 87, of Crossville, passed away Sept. 21, 2006. Funeral services were held Sept. 23 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Bro. Phil Jenkins officiated, with burial in Music Cemetery.

Mr. Music was born Oct. 7, 1919 in Cumberland County, the son of George Martin and Nancy Ann Payne Music.

He was retired as a mason and attended Linary Church of Christ.

Survivors include his son, Bill Music of Crossville; daughter, Phyllis Anderson of Crossville; sister, Lizzie Blaylock of Crossville; and special friend, Alice Music of Crossville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Anda, Wed, Walter and Roy Music.

Pallbearers were Kevin Music, Curtis Music, Adam Music, Dale Music, Vic Music and Robby Brewer.

Joseph Reagan

June 4, 2003 — Sept. 21, 2006

Joseph Reagan, age 3, of Crossville, passed away Sept. 21, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Sept. 23 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Brian Findley officiating. Interment was in Crossville City Cemetery.

Joseph was born June 4, 2003, in Crossville, the son of Jessie Rebecca Ball of Crossville.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his special daddy, Joey Davis of Crossville; special friend, Matthew Davis of Crossville; grandparents, David and Donna Ball of Crossville; great-grandmother, Margaret Azalee Ball of Crossville; great-grandfather, Leon Ball of Crossville; aunts, Jamie Lewis and Kathryn Kilgore of Crossville; uncles, Bobby Kilgore, David Aaron Ball and Kevin Lewis, all of Crossville; cousins, Jacob and Kurtis Lewis of Crossville; and all his friends at Home Away From Home.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Carl and Jo Jones.

Pallbearers were John Wieland, Daniel Wieland, Andrew Jones and Jeremy Jones.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

She was laid to rest at Grassy Cove United Methodist Cemetery.
