Harlan S. Ford

Harlan Stanley Ford, 73, of Baxter, passed away May 2, 2007. Funeral services were conducted May 5 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Don Wynn officiating. Burial was in Haley's Grove Cemetery in Crab Orchard.
Mr. Ford was born Jan. 10, 1934, in Crossville, the son of Robert Ford and Marie (Steelmon) Ford.
He was a truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Faye (Hale) Ford of Baxter; daughters and son-in-law, Carolyn (Ford) and Mark Dishman of Walling, TN, and Kathy (Ford) Ryan of Cookeville; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Debbie Ford of Sparta and Jim and Kathy Ford of Cookeville; brothers, Ernest Ford of Pikeville, Everett Ford of Monterey and Aaron Ford of Crossville; sisters, Jean (Ford) Derosa of St. Peters, MO, Alaine (Ford) Yingst of Cedar Rapids, MO, Betty (Ford) Welch of St. Charles, MO and Ruby (Ford) Sullivan of Cartersville, GA; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Edna Rucker; and brother, Elvin Ford.
Pallbearers were Brad Emerton, Steven Ford, Jason Henry, Chad McDowell, Travis Ford and E.J. Johnson.
Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
David L. Shillings
Feb. 27, 1944 — May 9, 2007
David Lynn Shillings, 63, of Crossville, passed away May 9, 2007. Funeral services were conducted May 10 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with R.K. Chadwick officiating. Burial was in Hedgecoth Cemetery.
Mr. Shillings was born Feb. 27, 1944, in Crossville, the son of Harrison and Ethel Tabor Shillings.
He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where he also served as a treasurer. He sold life insurance, worked at Turner Brothers Stone Company and also worked in construction. He also served in the U.S. Air Force. He really enjoyed going to the flea market and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Hedgecoth Shillings; sons and daughter-in-law, Monty and Elizabeth Shillings and Rex Shillings, all of Crossville; daughter, Vickie Masters of Cookeville; five grandchildren; brother, James Shilling of Orlando, FL; and sisters, Martha Sue Wyatt and Louann Walker of Crossville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Shillings.
Pallbearers were his grandson, David Shillings; cousins, Wayne Keyes and Mark Hedgecoth; nephews, Alan Wyatt and Gary Parham; and friend, John Shanks.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

Lou Ella Kemmer
Our beautiful angel, Lou Ella (Turner) Kemmer, 70, went home to be with the Lord May 18, 2012, after an incredible and courageously fought battle over the past several months. The family celebrated her life May 21 in her home church, the Church of God on Sparta Hwy., where she raised her family. Bro. Gene Burgess officiated the service. She was laid to rest at Grassy Cove United Methodist Cemetery.

Funeral service will be held today, May 23, at 2 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Mills officiating. Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Pomona Cemetery.

Otto Wheeley, 90, of Johnson City and formerly of Lafayette, passed away May 21, 2012. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home in Lafayette. Interment will be in Macon County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight, Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m., and tomorrow from 9 a.m. until the service.
