Jeanette F. Boudreau

Dec. 15, 1930 — July 8, 2007

Jeanette Flora Boudreau, 76, of Crossville, passed away July 8, 2007.

Mrs. Boudreau was born Dec. 15, 1930, in Bridgewater, MA, the daughter of Alexander and Charlotte Benton Smith.

She was a factory worker and an avid reader.

Survivors include her husband, William Boudreau of Crossville; sons, Marty Boudreau, Frank Tukis and Charlie Tukis, all of Massachusetts; daughters, Billie Tripp of Crossville, Alexia Tukis of Crossville, Sally Smithson of Florida and Carla Jean Tukis of Massachusetts; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Sally Britton, Edna Worchester and June DeArruda.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Marry Gausnas.

Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.



Robert J. Clouse

Aug. 5, 1921 — July 3, 2007

Robert John Clouse, 85, of Oak Ridge, passed away July 3, 2007. A Masonic service was held July 7 at Weatherford Mortuary in Oak Ridge with members of the Rockwood Masonic Lodge #403 officiating. Graveside services were held July 8 at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton with daughter Mary Underwood officiating.

Mr. Clouse was born Aug. 5, 1921, in Graysville, TN, the son of Robert McKinley Clouse and Nina Mansfield Clouse.

He resided in Franklin and Crossville as a young boy and played football in Crossville. In 1943, he graduated from Tennessee Polytechnic Institute in Cookeville with a degree in chemical engineering.

He was drafted in 1943 and assigned to the War Man Power Commission and in 1944 was transferred to the 13th Airborne Division until his discharge in 1945 at which time he went to Knoxville.

On May 8, 1945, Mr. Clouse began working for Union Carbide Nuclear Division and was a production manager at K-25 until May 1964. At that time, he went to Kerr-McGee Corporation in Crescent, OK where he was plant manager. In 1958, he received a Master of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In May 1968, he returned to Union Carbide, Oak Ridge, where he was a department head and resided in Kingston. He retired in 1987 after 38 years with the plant in Oak Ridge. Mr. Clouse also served as director of Midtown Utility District.

In his retirement years, Mr. Clouse built and managed College Mark in Rockwood.

He was a member and deacon of Bethel Presbyterian Church in Kingston and a member of the Rockwood Masonic Lodge #403.

Mr. Clouse enjoyed traveling and visited Hawaii many times, as well as New Zealand, Australia, many European countries, Russia, Alaska and Canada, all the while making friends. He was a very friendly and out-going person.

Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Emily Deitrick Burklow Clouse; daughters, Dana C. Hensley and husband Sam of Kingston, Linda D. Stiles and husband Rusty of Annapolis, MD and Mary C. Underwood and husband David of Knoxville; stepchildren, Lynn Burklow Holmes and husband Van, Chapin, SC, Troy Burklow III and wife Susanne of Tempe, AZ and Paul Burklow and wife Guncel of Jeffersonville, IN; grandchildren, Sam Hensley and wife Amanda, Clinton Hensley, Megan and Taylor Stiles and Courtnay Underwood; step-grandchildren, Brandon and Noel Holmes, Emily Holmes Anderson and husband Justin, Chelsia and Troy IV Burklow; Paul Jr., Jason and Tara Burklow; great-grandson, Malachi Christian Hall; cousin, Charles Bishop and wife Debbie; friend, Graeme Wilson; and loving dogs, Hobie and Peanut.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Betty Jane Garrison Clouse in 1995. He was also preceded in death by his friend of 60 years, Joe Dykstra.

The family asks that any memorials be in the form of contributions to the Ina Ingwersen Nursing Scholarship at Roane State Community College or to the Alzheimer's Association.

Hugh C. Daly

Oct. 18, 1925 — July 10, 2007

Hugh Carson Daly, 81, of Fairfield Glade, passed away July 10, 2007. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Fairfield Glade Community Church, with the Rev. Dale Marshall officiating.

Mr. Daly was born Oct. 18, 1925, in Detroit, MI, the son of Wilbur and Lucy Richardson Daly.

He was retired after 33 years as an engineer with Ford Motor Company and was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, having served during World War II. He was also a member of Fairfield Glade Community Church. He enjoyed playing tennis and was an avid golfer. He was also a member of many clubs and organizations, such as the National Rifle Association, New Generation Dance Club, Crossville Elks Lodge 2751 and a lifetime member of the Sportsman Club.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Daly of Fairfield Glade; son and daughter-in-law, David H. and Doreen Daly of Clarkston, MI; stepsons, Edward D. Reed III of Ellington, CT, Daniel Reed of Holyoke, MA and Mark A. Reed of Feeding Hills, MA; daughters, Cheryl A. Daly and Susan J. Daly of Clarkston, MI; stepdaughters, Carol Griger of The Villages, FL, Kathleen Murdock of Ludow, MA, Denise Corbisiero of Enfield, CT and Sharon McCarthy of Springfield, MA; brother, Lt. Col. Retired Wilbur Daly Jr. of California; sister, Jane Webb of Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Matthew Kistner, John Frank, William Frank and Rebecca Kendrick; great-grandchildren, Dakota Kendrick and Elizabeth Kendrick; 15 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Josephine F. Davis

Feb. 21, 1925 — July 7, 2007

Josephine Frances Davis, 82, of the Vandever community, passed away July 7, 2007. Funeral services were conducted July 9 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with Phil Jenkins officiating. Burial was in New Era Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis was born Feb. 21, 1925, in Cumberland County, the daughter of Lee Conner Hale and Laura Mae Brown Hale.

She was a homemaker and a member of Stephen Gap Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Calvin Davis Jr.; sons and daughters-in-law, J.C. and Lana Davis, Tony and Anita Davis, Calvin Jr. and Terresa Davis, Larry Davis, J.E. and Lisa Davis, all of Crossville; grandchildren, Tony Jr., Dwayne, Kevin, Jeremy, Dalton, Jason, Landon, Mary Jo, Jason, Crystal, Callie, Katelyn and Kelsie Davis; great-grandchildren, Ty, Kara, Dwayne Jr., Briley, Shelby, Aiden, Trinity and Sadie Davis; sister, Bernice Houston of Crossville; and brother, Cecil Hale of Chattanooga.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Margie Kerley, Dorothy Fuel, Myrtle Houston and Mildred Kerley; and brothers, Herthel Hale and Hollis Hale.

Pallbearers were Tony Davis Jr., Dwayne Davis, Kevin Davis, Dalton Davis, Jeremy Davis, Dwayne Davis Jr. and Jason Davis.

Hester A. Downs

Sept. 22, 1933 — July 7, 2007

Hester Ann Downs, 73, of Crossville, passed away July 7, 2007. Funeral services were conducted July 9 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with Bro. Thomas Hale Jr. officiating. Burial was in Crossville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Downs was born Sept. 22, 1933, in Cumberland County, the daughter of James and Ida Pearl Hedgecoth Houston.

She was retired from WyndRidge as a food service worker and was a member of Stanley Street Church of God of Prophecy. She loved to fish and enjoyed sewing and gardening.

Survivors include her brother, Wilburn Houston of Crossville; sister, Macle McCuiston of Crossville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Downs; and sisters, Polly and Lillie Mae Houston.
