Berta M. Redwine
March 20, 1916 — Aug. 1, 2007
Berta Mae Redwine passed away Aug. 1, 2007, at Elms Retirement Village in Wellington, OH. The family will be receiving friends at 10 a.m. Aug. 7 at Cowling Funeral Home, Rt. 18E, Wellington, OH 44090. A graveside service will follow at the Wellington Cemetery on Cemetery Road, with Pastor Bob Eddy of Toledo Road Church of Christ officiating.
Ms. Redwine was born March 20, 1916, in Crab Orchard.
She resided in Crossville for most of her life. She worked as a seamstress at the Catoosa Knitting Mill for 25 years and retired to Wellington, OH, in 1986. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, telling stories about assembling American flags during World War II. Her pride and joy was her great-great-nephew, Ryan Whitney.
Though she had no children of her own, she was mother and grandma to her sister Gladys Stone's children, Kathy Marlett, Elizabeth Murray, Lena Rodachy, Margie Burgos, William Stone, Donna and Debra Stone. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, DC and Clara (Cliffton) Redwine; sisters, Gladys Stone, Jessie Hamby, Ruby Miller, Alice Hyder and Edith Sloan; and brothers, Bob, Jack, Junior and Elmer.
John. E. Sells
Sept. 1, 1936 — July 14, 2007
John E. Sells, 70, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007 in San Antonio, TX. Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2007 with full military honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
Mr. Sells was born on Sept. 1, 1936 in Byrdstown, TN, the son of Joe and Vannie Sells.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Ayako Sells; children, John G. Sells and wife Yoko of Schertz, TX and Deborah A. Pharris and husband Eric of Cibolo, TX; grandchildren, Erika and Marie Sells and Tyler and Alec Pharris; sister, Virginia "Mickey" Strotman and husband Jack of Cottontown, TN; niece Sheila Crabtree of White House, TN; and grand-niece, Sarah Carmack of White House, TN.

Marcus F. Tinsley

Marcus Flannery Tinsley Sr., 84, of Crossville, passed away July 30, 2007. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 4 at First Congregational Church, with the Rev. Jack Noble officiating. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
Mr. Tinsley was born Nov. 30, 1922, in Knoxville, the son of George and Ethel (Flannery) Tinsley.
He was retired from the United States Air Force and was a member of the First Congregational Church in Crossville.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Marcus and Carol Tinsley Jr. of Ooltewah; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Blake White of Junction City, KS; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Bell (Rogers) Tinsley; and sister, Mildred Brown.

Our beautiful angel, Lou Ella (Turner) Kemmer, 70, went home to be with the Lord May 18, 2012, after an incredible and courageously fought battle over the past several months. The family celebrated her life May 21 in her home church, the Church of God on Sparta Hwy., where she raised her family. Bro. Gene Burgess officiated the service. She was laid to rest at Grassy Cove United Methodist Cemetery.
