Anna F. Anderson

Dec. 26, 1908 — Aug. 4, 2007

Anna Faye (Hood) Anderson, 98, of Crossville, passed away Aug. 4, 2007. Funeral services were held at Homestead Methodist Church on Aug. 6, with the Rev. Fay Tucker and the Rev. Bratton Tucker officiating. Interment was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Anderson was born Dec. 26, 1908, in Jessinville, AR, the daughter of Albert Riley and Ellen (Carr) Hood.

Mrs. Anderson and her husband, John Milton, were one of the original Homestead families, moving here in 1934. She taught at Homestead School for 29 years and loved every year. They were charter members of Homestead Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Milton Anderson; sisters, Esther Leora (Hood) O'Dell, Ellen Eunetta (Hood) Sparkman and Lena Swan; and brother, Howard Clifford Hood.

Pallbearers were Mike Davis, Roger York, Richard Reeve, David Yoder, Robert Martin and Tom Bristow.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.



Arthur A. Coburn

April 6, 1937 — Aug. 3, 2007

Arthur Alan Coburn, 70, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Aug. 3, 2007. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at Fairfield Glade Christ Lutheran Church. Family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall directly after the service.

Mr. Coburn was born April 6, 1937, in Salem, WV, the son of Arthur Carson and Elise Elizabeth (Lynch) Coburn.

After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he worked and retired from federal service at the Defense Logistics Agency in Columbus, OH, in 1995 where he was a computer specialist. He was a member of Fairfield Glade Christ Lutheran Church, Fairfield Glade Lions Club and was an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Jeanie Coburn of Fairfield Glade; sons, Todd (Kathy) Coburn of Cimarron, KS and Scott Coburn of Canal Winchester, OH; daughter, Tracy (Ron) Gharbo of Poquoson, VA; grandsons, Ryan, Zac, Kenny and Anthony Coburn; granddaughter, Alex and Melina Gharbo; stepson, Dale (Barb) Basemann of Reynoldsburg, OH; brother, Gene (Joyce) Coburn of Beverly Hills, FL; sisters, Margaret Fitzpatrick of Clarksburg, WV, Nellie Harris of Grantsville, WV, Mary Coburn of Pennsboro, WV, Betty (Wm.) Gault of Ashland, OH, Carole (John) Shearon of Marietta, OH, Linda Davis of Pennsboro, WV and Brenda (Barry) Riddle of Sandusky, OH; numerous nieces and nephews and too many dear friends to mentions.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Sutton of Bridgeport, WV.

The family has asked that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Arthur Coburn Memorial Fund (Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation), 1332 N. Halsted St., Suite 201, Chicago, IL 60622; the Fairfield Glade Christ Lutheran Church building fund; or to your favorite charity.

Ivan E. Mooneyham

Sept. 28, 1921 — Aug. 4, 2007

Ivan Earl Mooneyham, 85, of Crossville, passed away Aug. 4, 2007. Funeral services were conducted Aug. 7 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Dr. Brian Smith officiating. Interment was in Crossville City Cemetery, with full military honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard.

Mr. Mooneyham was born Sept. 28, 1921, in Crossville, the son of Lawson Monroe and Minnie Belle (Pugh) Mooneyham.

He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Homestead Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille (Barnes) Mooneyham of Crossville; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Chris Bell of Crossville, Jean and Edwin Cope of Dayton, OH, Jamie and Bob Sidwell of Gallatin, Gail Sexton of Crossville and Carol and Jerry Dyer of Brentwood; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers were Jonathan Sidwell, Jon Dyer, James Stephens, Tom Cope, Ivan Barnes, Keith Woody and Brian Carter.

Honorary pallbearers were Lee Cline, Denzle Barnes and Clyde Barnes.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

    Funeral services for Velma Short Phillips, 89, of Crossville, will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Cumberland Fellowship Church in Crossville. Pastor Hank Jones will officiate with interment to follow in the Welch Memorial Cemetery in Monterey. The family will receive friends at the church, at 1640 West Ave., Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m.
