William Cornett

CROSSVILLE — May 10, 1947—Jan. 5, 2013

William "Shade" Cornett, 65, of Fairfield Glade, passed away Jan. 5, 2013. Funeral services were held Jan. 9 at Fairfield Glade First Baptist Church, with Dr. Leonard Markham officiating.

He was born May 10, 1947, in Hazard, KY.

Mr. Cornett was retired from General Motors and a member of Fairfield Glade First Baptist Church. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Chambers) Cornett, of Crossville; daughter, Candace Norman (Bill) of Dayton, OH; stepson, Raymond Russell of Fairfield Glade; sisters, Sandy McDonald of Rockford, MI, and Linda Bulkema of Grand Rapids, MI; half-brother, Terry Klick of Brant, MI; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many aunts and uncles on the Reynolds side of his family.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Cornett; mother, Dorothy Jean (Augstine) Cornett; adoptive father, Joe G. Cornett; father, Warren G. Reynolds; and brother, Bud Cornett.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Fairfield Glade First Baptist Church, 130 Town Center Lane, Crossville, TN 38571.

Charles Presley officiating. Interment was in Algood City Cemetery, with full military honors provided by Veteran's Honor Guard.

Billy Vaughn Barnwell, 51, of Crab Orchard, TN passed away on May 10, 2013 at Cumberland Medical Center. The family will receive friends today, May 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Ralph Reagan officiating. Burial will be in Haley's Grove Cemetery.

Visitation was held May 13 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, with a memorial service at 6 p.m. The Rev. Bill Harvey and the Rev. James Arland Anderson officiated. Burial will be private.
