CROSSVILLE —
William Telford Elliott, 79, of Fairfield Glade and Jensen Beach, FL, passed away Nov. 13, 2012, at Life Care Center of Crossville in Crossville from complications of Parkinson’s disease. A celebration of life will be held on Nettles Island, FL, at a later date.
He was born Sept. 6, 1933, in Medford, MA, the son of the late William Pike and Marjorie Bates (Stevens) Elliott.
Bill attended Westminster School, Connecticut; Denison University, Ohio; and the University of Massachusetts. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked in sales for Owens-Corning Fiberglass before becoming a manufacturers representative for 20 years in Syracuse, NY, retiring in 1990.
Bill enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, traveling as well as backpacking in Alaska. He was a gifted athlete, participating in many sports with tennis becoming his favorite. He was a great husband, father and a true gentleman.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Michelle (Lockhart) Elliott, of Fairfield Glade and Jensen Beach, FL; son, William L. Elliott and wife, Melissa, of Munford, TN; daughters, Lauren Robinson and husband, Wayne, of Slidell, LA, and Dee Williams and husband, Stuart, of Ballston Spa, NY; brother, Robert S. Elliott and wife, Fredi, of Menlo Park, CA; and sister, Barbara E. Fargo of Grafton, MA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
