James E. Hamby

Jan. 28, 1948 — June 27, 2009



James Edward Hamby, 61, of Hebbertsburg, passed away June 27, 2009. Funeral services were conducted June 30 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Harold Qualls officiating. Interment was in New Home Cemetery.



Mr. Hamby was born Jan. 28, 1948, in Crossville, the son of Andrew Clarence Hamby and Althea Marine (Wilson) Hamby.



He was a truck driver for PSC Metals. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing and riding his four-wheeler around to his gardens. He really loved spending time with his grandkids.



Survivors include his wife, Linda Gail (Cox) Hamby of Hebbertsburg; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Alisa Hamby of Crossville and Michael and Jessica Hamby of Hebbertsburg; daughter and son-in-law, Joann and Buck Hoskins of Hebbertsburg; brother, John Hamby of Crossville; sisters, Pam Gray and Irene Wallace of Hebbertsburg and Barbara Allen of Columbus, OH; and eight grandchildren.



He was preceded in death by his parents.



Pallbearers were Bob Sherrill, Mark Cook, Terry Goss, Scott Myers, Michael James Hamby, B.J. Hoskins and Mikey Stephens.



Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.

    Aileen Pridgen Patience, 92, of Crossville, passed away April 29, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at Central Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roland Smith officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA, at a later date.
