I. E. (Edward)(Skinner) Lewis, 84, of Palmetto, FL, passed away June 29, 2009. A memorial service was held July 4 at his home in Palmetto, FL.

Mr. Lewis was born Nov. 1, 1924, in Crossville, the son of the late Charles Ervin and Bertha (Seals) Lewis.

He was an electrician at Inland Mfg. in Dayton, OH. He moved to Florida in 1966 and retired there.

Survivors include his wife, Ann; daughter, Cindy Ann (Bill) Carlbert of Palmetto, FL; sisters, Lola Norris of Crossville and Thelma L. Savage of Fairborn, OH; special sister-in-law, Helen (Page) Lewis of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren, Larry Edward Lewis Jr. of Pensacola, FL, Jason Lewis of Lake Wales, FL, Tammy English of Jacksonville, FL, Billy and Cody Carlbert of Zephyrhills, FL, David Carlbert of Palmetto, FL and Jamie Ann (Eric) Perkins of Palmetto, FL; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Larry Edward Lewis Sr.; brothers, Herman, Ralph and Cordell Lewis; and sister, Christine Agee.

Aileen Pridgen Patience, 92, of Crossville, passed away April 29, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at Central Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roland Smith officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA, at a later date.

Dorothy Lorene (Stephens) Cook, 82, of Crossville, went home to be with Jesus April 29, 2010. Funeral services were held May 2 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. H. C. Couch officiating. Interment was in Crossville City Cemetery.

Daisy Mae (Cody) Thompson, 96, of Crossville, passed away April 27, 2010. Funeral services were held April 30 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Nathan Haynes officiating. Interment was in Smith's Chapel Cemetery.

Claude Little
This past Saturday, Cumberland County lost one of its most beloved figures when Mr. Claude Little passed away at Erlanger Hospital following a massive stroke incurred Wednesday, April 21. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 4, at Crossville First United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Bilbrey Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Patricia Kester Filsinger passed away peacefully on April 29, 2010 after a major stroke on April 13. Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 8, at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. with a brief reception following at the church.
