Fred Frank Pugh, 89, of Crossville, passed away Oct. 28, 2009, at Cumberland Medical Center. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 31, from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home with Mike Reagan officiating. Interment was in Pugh Cemetery.
Mr. Pugh was born Nov. 3, 1919 in Crossville, the son of the late John Wesley and Maude Dixon Pugh.
He was a carpenter and served in the U.S. Army 6th Calvary during World War II.
He enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing. He was a big sports fan and especially enjoyed baseball.
He was of the protestant faith.
Survivors include his son, David Pugh; grandchildren, Micah Brown, Candice Pugh and Tasha Ashburn; great-grandchildren, Abigail Brown, Caleb Brown, Alex Brown, Travis Brown and Ethan Ashburn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Clarence, Arnold, Andy, Lawrence, Thurman and Ernest Pugh; and sisters, Kate Moore and Mattie Mae Reeves.
The Veterans Honor Guard provided full military honors and served as pallbearers.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
