Mattie Lou (Adkins) Kemmer, 92, of Crossville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009. Funeral services were held from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home Tuesday, Nov. 3, with Bro. Ricky Burse officiating. Interment was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
She was born June 27, 1917, in Fentress County, the daughter of the late Alvin Butram "A.B." Adkins Sr. and Linnie (Emery) Adkins.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Libby Kemmer, of Crab Orchard; daughter and son-in-law, Janie and Ben Kerley of Linary; She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom John "T.J." Kemmer; son, William "Billy" Floyd Kemmer; brothers, Alvin Burtram "A.B." Adkins Jr. and Charles Hoyt Adkins; sisters, Augusta Adkins, Thelma Anderson, Donna Reid, Linnie Greene and Edna Keaton.
Pallbearers were Lynn Kerley, Jimmy Denton, Jimmy Kemmer Jr., Tom Kemmer, Todd Kemmer and Chris Kemmer.
Honorary pallbearers were Marlin Haston, J.W. Brown, Bob Mitchell, Edwin Lansford, George Kemmer, Bill Wheeler and Ralph Padgett.
