Lena Elizabeth (Burgess) Davis, 94, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 1, 2009, at WyndRidge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Crossville. Funeral services were held from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home Nov. 3, with Bro. Mike Garrett officiating. Interment was in Crossville City Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 8, 1915, in Bledsoe County, TN, the daughter of the late Frank Burgess Sr. and Marcia (Croft) Burgess.

She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by daughter, Wilma Jean Richards of Crossville; son, Gerald Lee Davis of Nashville; brothers, Frank Burgess Jr. of Wenathec, WA, Everett Burgess of Cookeville, TN, Calvin Burgess of Crossville and Roy Burgess of Pikeville, TN; sister, Zella Reynolds of Anaheim, CA; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orvil Lee Davis; brothers, Howard Burgess and Floyd Burgess; and sisters, Geneva Brown, Lora Stephens and Frances Rose.

Pallbearers were Daniel Richards, Gerald Davis Jr., Sonny Rose, David Rose, Everett Burgess and Calvin Burgess.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.

Aileen Pridgen Patience, 92, of Crossville, passed away April 29, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at Central Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roland Smith officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA, at a later date.

This past Saturday, Cumberland County lost one of its most beloved figures when Mr. Claude Little passed away at Erlanger Hospital following a massive stroke incurred Wednesday, April 21. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 4, at Crossville First United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Bilbrey Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
