Peter Davison Cullen, 69, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 10, 2010. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with Bro. Gary Hargis officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Cullen was born Jan. 21, 1940, in Melbourne, Australia, the son of David Edward and Jessie Mary "Bon" Davison Cullen.
He was retired as an automotive engineer and was also an innovative man who owned his business manufacturing ignition parts for foreign cars. He also held patents in England on some of his inventions. He was a man who made friends easily wherever he went. He made a point to stay in touch with all his friends on a regular basis, even friends dating back to grade school and throughout the world.
He was a world traveler, having visited every continent except South America. He was quite an antique car buff and loved the local cruise-ins here in Crossville. He belonged to the antique car club and the Mustang club here and was a lifetime member of the Mustang club in Florida.
His aspirations after retirement was to become what some call a "country gentleman," which he did after moving here. He loved his land, his barns and his tractor. He was so proud to have achieved his dream. He loved the pets he and his wife Carole kept and they loved him. His life was full of excitement and happiness. He made everyone laugh with his great sense of humor and his gentleness and kindness touched the hearts of many.
Survivors include his wife, Carole Cullen of Crossville; and brother, Philip Edward Cullen and wife Pauline Fay of Melbourne, Australia.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
