George Daniel Stepp Sr., 58, of Crossville, passed away Feb. 5, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Rick Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Haley's Grove Cemetery, with full military honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 8, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Stepp was born Jan. 13, 1950, in Crab Orchard, the son of George Mack and Jessie Frances (Amonett) Stepp.
He served honorably in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Bennington, an aircraft carrier, during the Vietnam War as a chef. He was also a firefighter while stationed in Adak Station, AK. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends, especially playing cards with Aunt Opal "O.J." and talking over old times with Uncle. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was a very proud father of two sons, whom he raised as a single father and put through school, George Stepp Jr. and James Andrew Stepp of Crossville. He was also a proud grandfather of a granddaughter, Macey Faith Stepp, and grandsons, George Andrew Jayce Stepp, Tristan Eli Stepp, Camden Slade Stepp and Brylond James Stepp. He is also survived by his sisters, Eva Mae Brock of Dallas, TX, Juanita Pasters, Norma Stepp, Nina Ray, Reba Easterly and Lynn Stepp, all of Crossville; brothers, James Stepp, Randy Stepp and Richard Stepp, all of Crossville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Stepp; and several nieces and nephews.
"We will love and miss our father, grandfather, brother, uncle and father-in-law forever."
Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

Aileen Pridgen Patience, 92, of Crossville, passed away April 29, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at Central Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roland Smith officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA, at a later date.

This past Saturday, Cumberland County lost one of its most beloved figures when Mr. Claude Little passed away at Erlanger Hospital following a massive stroke incurred Wednesday, April 21. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 4, at Crossville First United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Bilbrey Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
