Kenneth Carl Rogers, 78, of Monterey, passed away April 20, 2008, at Standing Stone Care and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Horner Funeral Home of Cookeville. Interment will follow in the Sand Springs Cemetery. The Rev. Denny Moore, the Rev. Delmar McCowan, and the Rev. Rick Lacy will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Mr. Rogers was born Jan. 17, 1930 in Whitleyville, TN to the late William and Clema Deck Rogers.
Before becoming disabled he worked in the construction industry for many years. He was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church, an avid Chicago Cubs Fan, fisherman and reader of Louis L'Amour books.
Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Delores McCloud Rogers (whom he married January 22, 1954 in Putnam County); two daughters and a son-in-law, Phyllis and Randy Miller of Monterey and Sandy Wyatt of Crossville; three grandchildren, Shelly Wyatt, Keith (Christy) Miller, T. J. (Jennifer) Miller; four-year-old great-grandson, Isaac Cooper; a sister, Wahlena Horn of Cookeville; and one brother, Edward Rogers.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Horner Funeral Home of Cookeville is in charge of the arrangements.

Aileen Pridgen Patience, 92, of Crossville, passed away April 29, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at Central Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roland Smith officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA, at a later date.

This past Saturday, Cumberland County lost one of its most beloved figures when Mr. Claude Little passed away at Erlanger Hospital following a massive stroke incurred Wednesday, April 21. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 4, at Crossville First United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Bilbrey Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
