Leah (Selby) McCuistion, 96, of Crossville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ April 24, 2008. Funeral services were conducted April 26 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Pastor Fay Tucker officiating. Interment was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
Mrs. McCuistion was born June 24, 1911, in Burke, TN, in Cumberland County near Crossville, and had a lifelong love of the "head of the valley" above Pikeville. She was the daughter of John Wesley and Mary (Wyatt) Selby.
She was retired from the Cumberland County School System where she was a teacher for 36 years. At the beginning of her career, she taught in several one-room schoolhouses and ended her career at Crossville Elementary. She began teaching at Jewett, and also taught at Meridian, Grassy Cove, Crab Orchard and Homestead Elementary.
She was a charter member of Homestead United Methodist Church and was the church pianist and organist for more than 50 years.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Fred (Buddy) and Rhonda McCuistion of Crossville; grandchildren, Shannon and Alan Blevins of Knoxville and Noele and John Weemes of Teller, AK; great-grandson, Murchadch Luke Weemes of Teller, AK; brother, Eugene Selby of Crossville; nieces, Myra Hedgecoth, Helen Buckner, Gail Hall and Betty Buckner, all of Crossville, Geneva Parker of Cookeville and Peggy Walker of Dayton, OH; and nephews, Gordon Selby, T.J. Selby, Jim Selby, John Selby, Bill Selby and Bob Selby, all of Crossville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick Earl McCuistion Sr.; sister, Jessie Hedgecoth; and brothers, Carmack Selby and Ridley Selby.
Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

Aileen Pridgen Patience, 92, of Crossville, passed away April 29, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at Central Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roland Smith officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA, at a later date.

Claude Little
This past Saturday, Cumberland County lost one of its most beloved figures when Mr. Claude Little passed away at Erlanger Hospital following a massive stroke incurred Wednesday, April 21. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 4, at Crossville First United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Bilbrey Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
