Martha Ellen Brown, 76, of Crossville, formerly of Pikeville, passed away at an area nursing home May 9, 2008, after a lengthy illness. A celebration of her life was held in the chapel of Pikeville Funeral Home May 12, with Bro. Doyle Ashburn officiating. Burial was in Pikeville Cemetery.

She is survived and will be sorely missed by her sons, Rickey (Patsy) Brown and B.J. Brown, both of Pikeville; her daughter, Deborah Brown of Crossville; sister, Iwilla Moody of Ypsilanti, MI; grandchildren, Daniel (Ginessa) Brown of Portland, TN and Laura (David) Campbell of Pikeville; and great-grandchild, Coleman Campbell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ersie (Troglin) Hitchcox; and brother, Edward Lee.

Pikeville Funeral Home (www.pikevillefuneralhome.com) was in charge of arrangements.

Aileen Pridgen Patience, 92, of Crossville, passed away April 29, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at Central Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roland Smith officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA, at a later date.

This past Saturday, Cumberland County lost one of its most beloved figures when Mr. Claude Little passed away at Erlanger Hospital following a massive stroke incurred Wednesday, April 21. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 4, at Crossville First United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Bilbrey Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
