Billy Taylor, 46, of Crossville, passed away Sept. 12, 2008. Funeral services were conducted Sept. 16 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Johnson officiating. Burial was in Crossville City Cemetery.
Mr. Taylor was born May 28, 1962, in Nashville, the son of William C. and Mary Ann Webb Taylor.
He owned his own landscaping business and was also employed with the Nashville Tennessean. He had previously worked for Purity Dairy for 15 years in Nashville. He was of the Baptist faith. He was an accomplished carpenter and enjoyed remodeling. He loved the outdoors, four-wheeling and hunting. He loved football and was a great UT Vols fan. The most important part of his life was his family and children. He was a wonderful husband, father, son and brother and will be greatly missed by those who loved him so dearly.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer "Becky" Taylor of Crossville; mother and stepfather, Mary Ann and Billy Jolley of Crossville; father and stepmother, William and Betty Taylor of Nashville; son, Corey Taylor of Murfreesboro; daughters, Kayla Taylor of Murfreesboro and Carah Taylor of Crossville; sisters, Sherry King of Murfreesboro, Darlene Frame and husband Edward of Murfreesboro, Marlene Bell of Crossville and Lori Hamlett and husband Tim of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Chance, Damian and Dillon Taylor; special sister-in-law, Christy Carlton of Crossville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his stepson, Austin.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.

This past Saturday, Cumberland County lost one of its most beloved figures when Mr. Claude Little passed away at Erlanger Hospital following a massive stroke incurred Wednesday, April 21. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 4, at Crossville First United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Bilbrey Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
