Helen Leslie Flagg, 83, of Cumberland County, passed away Sept. 27, 2008. Funeral services were conducted Sept. 29 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with Bro. Steven Pickard and Bro. Elliott Roberts officiating. A sunset burial was held at Smith's Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Flagg was born March 22, 1925, in Peekskill, NY, the daughter of A. Robert and Mercedes Morrill Shaw.
She was a retired secretary with the Lakeland County School District and a member of Faith Assembly of God in Crossville. She was gifted in the art of needlepoint and cross stitch. She also loved to can fruits and vegetables and enjoyed playing board games.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Eileen Henry of Garrison, NY and George and Donna Henry of Grandville, NY; stepsons, Christopher Flagg and wife Lauren of Balston Spa, NY and Craig Flagg and wife Joy of Franklin; stepdaughters, Carolyn Rhazi and husband Abdeslam of Mission Viejo, CA, Cynthia Tallon and husband James of Bowie, MD and Claudia Cauer of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Kristin Gibson and Mark and Aaron Henry, Symar, Nadia and Sufian Rhazi, Stephanie, Glenn and Gregory Tallon, Gesine and Leilian Cauer and Meaghan, Joshua, Matthew and Hannah Flagg; and great-grandchildren, Danielle, Sarah and Logan Gibson, Heather and Devin Henry and Shannon Tallon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Flagg.
Pallbearers were Scott Parks, Steve Parks, Lonnie Parks, Matthew Flagg, Sam Davis and Don Gastineau.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.

Aileen Pridgen Patience, 92, of Crossville, passed away April 29, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at Central Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roland Smith officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA, at a later date.

This past Saturday, Cumberland County lost one of its most beloved figures when Mr. Claude Little passed away at Erlanger Hospital following a massive stroke incurred Wednesday, April 21. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 4, at Crossville First United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Bilbrey Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
