Leslie Philip Pratt, 85, of Crossville, passed away Sept. 28, 2008. Funeral services with full military honors were held Oct. 4 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with Deacon Joe Solis officiating.
Mr. Pratt was born April 12, 1923, in Dyer County, the son of Aaron Carlton and Rachael Cagle Pratt.
He was retired from the Chicago Tribune as a mailer and a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. He was also a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II and was a member of the VFW Post 5025.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Pratt of Crossville; sons and daughters-in-law, William and Clara Pratt of Las Vegas, NV and John and Rachael Pratt of Chicago, IL; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Charles Griffith of Crossville Charmaine Pratt of Crossville and Patricia and Remon Knowlton of Chicago; brothers, Burnise Pratt and Herlet Pratt of Fulton, KY; sister, Charlotte Bostrom of Egan, MN; sister-in-law, Lavergne Pratt of Fulton; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Penny Langdon.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.

Aileen Pridgen Patience, 92, of Crossville, passed away April 29, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at Central Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roland Smith officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA, at a later date.

This past Saturday, Cumberland County lost one of its most beloved figures when Mr. Claude Little passed away at Erlanger Hospital following a massive stroke incurred Wednesday, April 21. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 4, at Crossville First United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Bilbrey Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
