Agnes Kemmer

Agnes (Mitchell) Kemmer, 81, of the Dogwood community, passed away Sept. 20, 2008. A graveside service was held Sept. 24 at Dogwood Cemetery, with Bro. Donald Umphrey and Bro. Randall Dye officiating.
Mrs. Kemmer was born Dec. 8, 1926, in Chattanooga, the daughter of David and Bertha (Derossett) Mitchell.
She devoted her life to taking care of her family. Along with her sons, she followed her husband around the world during his military career. She was a devoted member of Dogwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daugters-in-law, Peggy Kemmer of the Dogwood community and Carolyn Kemmer of Gulfport, MS; special nephew, Dave Mitchell and wife Ginger of Indiana; sister, Eloise Stinnett of Dayton; brother, David Mitchell of Spring City; grandchildren, Mitch Kemmer and wife Joy of the Dogwood community, Tammy Godsey and husband Bobby of Crab Orchard, Marty Kemmer of Gulfport, MS and Trish Godsey of Crossville; great-grandchildren, Dana, Leko, Heather, Dallas, Dylan, T.J., Maggie and Norman; sisters-in-law, Mary K. Thomason and Sherdie Mitchell; and a host of much-loved nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Andrew Kemmer; sons, Norman Mitchell Kemmer and Jack Thomas Kemmer; brothers, Ernie Mitchell and Herman Mitchell; two infant brothers and one infant sister.
Pallbearers were Dana Godsey, Heather Hembree, Dallas Kemmer, Dylan Godsey, David Findley, Maggie Kemmer, T.J. Godsey and Norman Kemmer.
Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
