Martha Jo (Young) Cole Shirley, 67 of Crossville, passed away Nov. 16, 2008. Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home Nov. 19, with Bro. Vern Daugherty and Bro. Rick Rikter officiating with special music by Melissa and Rick Rikter. Interment was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Shirley was born April 21, 1941, in Crossville, the daughter of Orlie Young Sr. and Lois (Holbert) Young.
She was a beautician and a member of Dorton Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Jackie Cagle of Pikeville; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Cindy Cole of Crossville; granddaughters, Katie Cagle of Pikeville, Melissa Cole Rikter and husband Rick and Andi Smith Casey and husband Aaron, all of Crossville; grandson, Bob Cole of Crossville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret (Young) and Johnny May of Kingston, Muriel (Smith) and Donald Clarke, June Young Cooper and Nellie Jane Whisnant, all of Crossville, and Rosie and Don Peterson of West Bloomfield, MI; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Melinda Young and Joe and Janie Young, all of Crossville; sisters-in-law, Frances Young and Frances (Cole) Hyder; and brother-in-law, Dick Hyder of Crossville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. "Bob" Cole; brothers, George Young, Doyle Young, Jerry Young and Orlie "Bossman" Young, Jr.; brothers-in-law, James Red Smith and James Linder; nieces, Gail Mathis and Jamie Sue Lindner; and nephew, Orlie Cooper.
Pallbearers were Bob Cole, David Cooper, George Young Jr., Brian Young, Jimmy Smith and Rick Whisnant.
Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

Aileen Pridgen Patience, 92, of Crossville, passed away April 29, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at Central Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roland Smith officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA, at a later date.

This past Saturday, Cumberland County lost one of its most beloved figures when Mr. Claude Little passed away at Erlanger Hospital following a massive stroke incurred Wednesday, April 21. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 4, at Crossville First United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Bilbrey Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
