Students from Cumberland County, Stone Memorial and Phoenix High School were recognized as A honor roll students for the first semester at the awards program at Tennessee Technology Center at Crossville on May 19.
Transcripts from TTCC reflect scores in three areas including classroom, shop, and work ethics.
“It may seem unlikely that so many of our high school students earn an A average,” comments Barbara Thornhill, TTCC counselor. “The goal of our instructors is to teach until the student learns. Because our instructors teach on an individualized basis, they have the flexibility to allow a student extra time to master a skill. Once the student masters one level, they move on to the next level. After all, we are training students for the work force. No one wants to hire an average or below average employee.”
The following students were included on the A honor roll:
Cody Barnes, Machine Tool, SMHS; Alyssa Braun, Early Childhood, SMHS; Dustin Brown, Masonry, Phoenix; James Brown, Machine Tool, CCHS; Corey Carter, Early Childhood, SMHS; Kimmie Chambers, Early Childhood, SMHS; Robert Cooper, Machine Tool, SMHS; Doug Deck, Machine Tool, CCHS; Cody Derrick, Electronics, CCHS; Brooke Eddington, Early Childhood, SMHS; Brandon England, Drafting, CCHS; Stephen Garrett, Collision Repair, SMHS; Emmett Hale, Welding, CCHS; Jon Hammett, Electronics, SMHS; Dellen Hash, Masonry, SMHS; Tim Hassler, Welding, CCHS; Jonathan Holt, Welding, CCHS; William Miller, Machine Tool, SMHS; Cody Parsons, Welding, SMHS; Miki Parsons, Early Childhood, SMHS; Chase Potter, Machine Tool, SMHS; James Pritchard, Masonry, CCHS; Bobby Reed, Machine Tool, SMHS; Kayla Sherrill, Early Childhood, SMHS; Buck Tanner, Collision Repair, CCHS; Alexander Taylor, Electronics, CCHS; Travis Weidner, Welding, SMHS.
