Homestead, Pine View students attend Biztown
Students from Homestead Elementary and Pine View School recently attended Junior Achievement Biztown in Clinton. Biztown is the place where students run their business in a town that includes a City Hall and sixteen businesses.

Local scholar attends historic inauguration
In January, outstanding high school students from across the United States and around the world took part in a truly American celebration — the inauguration of the president of the United States of America. Among them was Kayde Johnson, the daughter of Kimberly M. Johnson, MD, and the granddaughter of Burl and Lynda Campbell Johnson of Dunlap.

Two local students win TACD Poster Contest
Two Cumberland County students were top winners of the Tennessee Association of Conservation Districts State Poster Contest. Holley Shaw won first place in the fourth through sixth grade category and Callie Piper placed first in the seventh through ninth grade category.

Nelson helps students think outside the box
Kim Nelson was always teaching in one form or another, taking on Sunday school classes at her church, training employees, working with all ages on nutrition education and raising two children. Eight years ago, she entered the classroom at Pleasant Hill Elementary School, bringing her enthusiasm and outside the box teaching to fifth grade students.

The Cumberland County Playhouse proudly salutes the talented valedictorians and salutatorian of CCHS and Stone Memorial High School this year: Grace Harrison (SMHS-Valedictorian) and Coco Bennett (CCHS-Valedictorian), and Wren Tackett (SMHS-Salutatorian), who all happen to be long time students of the CCP Performance Education Center.
