Oh Good Grief: Elementary tournament is ridiculous
The Cumberland County elementary basketball tournament opened Thursday night at both CCHS and SMHS under a new format which is ridiculous.

Rocky Top Beat: Signing day is in the books
The 2012 Signing Day is in the books, and Derek Dooley seems very pleased with his third recruiting class at Tennessee. Don’t get hung up with the recruiting ‘stars’ look at what the Vols added to their team for the upcoming year and beyond.

ALL IN THE GAME: Consistency would help both teams
Of course I'm talking about the Vanderbilt and Tennessee basketball squads. They either play really well or very badly. Sure, I'm tickled with the absolute thrashing that the Commodores put on the Vols this week, but I'm just as disappointed at how my team blew a big lead in the loss to Mississippi State.

Jarnell Stokes wins SEC Freshman of the Week
The Vols started last weekend off on the right foot by upsetting then #13 UConn at home before a loud contingent of the Big Orange Nation. Rocky Top Beat: It's déjà vu at UT
The first week of 2012 started looking too much like 2011 for UT.

ALL IN THE GAME: The excitement is building for Commodore fans
I know that appearing in a bowl game is just a standard thing for the Volunteers, except for this year, and it normally doesn't bring much excitement to them. That's just another good thing about being a Vanderbilt fan.

ROCKY TOP BEAT: Highly-ranked hoop recruit signs with Tennessee
Christmas came early for Cunzo Martin when the best high school player in Tennessee and the 11th ranked player in the country signed a letter of intent to attend Tennessee starting in January.
-
ALL IN THE GAME: Just getting ready for the bowl games
Well, I've already got my recliner in position and I'm not even through with my Christmas shopping. I guess I need to realign my priorities, at least that's been suggested to me.
