CROSSVILLE —
Singer, storyteller and folk-theologian Ed Kilbourne will be performing in Pleasant Hill at Upland Village’s Adshead Hall on Friday evening, Aug. 24 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday morning, Aug. 25 at 9 a.m.
Sunday morning, Aug. 26, there will be another performance at the Pleasant Hill Community Church with services beginning at 10:45 a.m.
Ed Kilbourne is widely known for his ability to combine music and spiritual teaching in worship and concert settings. He is appreciated for his collections of moving music, quirky humor, and insightful monologues.
Combining his acoustic guitar and singing with storytelling, his style is often compared to Garrison Keillor, the radio humorist from “Lake Wobegon.” Ed is a veteran of more than 8,000 solo appearances over the last 40 years both in the United States and Europe. His CDs will be available at the concerts and can also be ordered from his website, www.edkilbourne.com.
Friday’s 6:30 p.m. performance at Adshead Hall (located in the lower level of Fletcher House) will be preceded by a 5:30 p.m. potluck supper. Saturday morning there will be another performance at Adshead Hall from 9 a.m. to noon with a break for refreshments. All are welcome to attend these free events.
The concerts are hosted by the Shalom Center for Continuing Education, a not-for-profit educational center providing opportunities for holistic education on behalf of Shalom (wholeness, health, and peace). Contact Jerry at 277-3353 for directions or more information.
