Stingray Anthony sings the music of the late Ritchie Valens and, he is so good at it, the Ritchie Valens Estate has endorsed him and his music. He has worked with legends like Chubby Checker, Bobby Vee, Fabian, Danny & The Juniors and more rock 'n roll legends.
He has received proclamations from the city of Los Angeles for keeping the music of Ritchie Valens alive. He has been named the "Best Live Entertainer" in Branson, MO, and on Dec. 1 he is bringing his own brand of 1950s and '60s Rock 'n Roll to Crossville.
Stingray Anthony will be at The Palace Theatre for one evening show Dec. 1 beginning at 7 p.m. General admission tickets are $15 for the main floor and $12 for the balcony. All tickets are available at the Palace by calling 484-6133.
Stingray Anthony is a "throwback" to the '50s. From his ducktail haircut to his loud clothes, Stingray's "La-Bamba" will make you think you are watching the real Ritchie Valens. Critics have praised his rock 'n roll shows saying, "he's more like Ritchie Valens than the real guy."
Performing with Stingray is Crossville's own Trackside Band and, for this special show, the management is bringing in three professional back-up singers to perform with Stingray — Cindy Shelton, Jennifer Cihi and Laurie Hall. Special guest will be Kristen Newman who has appeared with Trackside before.
Audiences will hear music made famous by Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly, Bill Haley and the Comets, Johnny Horton, Jim Reeves, Roy Orbison and many more rockers from the 1950's.
Also appearing with Sting Ray will be Crossville's "Bruise Brothers," Walter Tollett and Andy Vaughn.
If you were a teenager in the 1950s or early 1960s, this show is for you.
