Just in time for holiday giving, PAART announces that tickets are now available for the first concert in its 2013 season at the Palace Theatre in downtown Crossville — Thomas Pandolfi in a program of piano pieces by Liszt and Chopin. On Friday, Jan. 4, noted pianist Pandolfi will bring down the house with such pieces as the "Hungarian Rhapsody" and the beloved "Leibestraum" by Franz Lizst, the always popular "Military Polonaise," "Fantasy-Impromptu" and "Four Etudes" by Chopin among many others.
Pandolfi’s program is a jewelbox of pieces from music’s Romantic Era, and you will recognize the themes to two popular 20th century songs among the Chopin selections: “I’m Always Chasing Rainbows” and “No Other Love.” Saving the fireworks for last, Pandolfi ends with Chopin’s "'Heroic' Polonaise."
Pandolfi has appeared in concert halls nationwide. The Washington Post has described him as “an artist who is master of both the grand gesture and the sensual line. Pandolfi possesses first-rate technical skills, an unerring command of phrasing, a quicksilver touch…etched with calm and crystal clarity…outstanding.”
Pandolfi’s 2012 appearance in Crossville was a sold-out in advance with a long waiting list. So be sure to reserve your tickets now for the first big concert event of the 2013 season. Tickets for the evening performance are $6 for students and $12 for adults. All tickets can be purchased by calling the Palace Theatre at 484-6133 or online at www.palacetheatre-crossville.com.
