Family Movie Days at ACPL

CROSSVILLE — Saturday is considered Family Movie Days at the Art Circle Public Library this month. There will be free showings of family-friendly movies in the Cumberland Meeting Room. All ages are welcome (children up to the age of 11 must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver).

The movie schedule includes the following:

•FrankenWeenie — March 16 at noon.

From creative genius Tim Burton (Alice in Wonderland, The Nightmare Before Christmas) comes Frankenweenie, a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life — with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor's fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new "leash on life" can be monstrous.

•The Odd Life of Timothy Green — March 23 at noon.

Happily married couple, Cindy and Jim Green cannot wait to start a family but can only dream about what their child would be like. When young Timothy shows up on their doorstep one stormy night, Cindy and Jim — and their small town of Stanleyville — learn that sometimes the unexpected can bring some of life’s greatest gifts.

•Here Comes the Boom — March 30 at noon.

Former collegiate wrestler Scott Voss (Kevin James) is a 42-year-old, apathetic high school teacher. When budget cutbacks threaten to cancel some of the school's programs and lay off its music teacher (Henry Winkler), Scott creates a scheme to raise money by moonlighting as a mixed martial arts fighter. Everyone thinks Scott is crazy — most of all the school nurse, Bella (Salma Hayek). In his quest, Scott gains something he never expected as he inspires his students and becomes a sensation that rallies the entire school.
