Big Band Sound pays a salute to football Nov. 14

The Big Band Sound will feature college fight songs from a variety of prominent schools when it performs at the Saturday, Nov. 14, Touchdown Ball at the Fairfield Glade Community Center. The salute to football is scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $12.50 per person.

For information and reservations call the Community Center at 484-3722. Early reservations are necessary.

The Big Band Sound, under the direction of Dr. Wayne F. Pegram of Cookeville, will perform for listeners as well as dancers.

Joe Brindisi of Fairfield Glade will be featured in an alto saxophone solo on “After the Loving.”

Vocalists Wanda Hepburn and Lloyd Holt will sing waltzes, ballads and duets.

The band will include cha chas, rumbas, tangos, swing selections, waltzes, a line dance and a polka.

Reservations can be made and tickets paid for prior to the event in person at the Community Center. Reservations by phone may be charged to a credit card. Cancellations made two days before the dance will be given full refunds.

Dance clubs and classes are welcome. Tables seat eight persons and may be reserved. The dance committee furnishes soft drinks and light snacks. Other beverages and party foods are permitted and may be brought into the facility by those attending.

The Community Center is at 128 Stonehenge Drive, located six miles north of I-40 (Exit 322) and a quarter mile north of Peavine Road.
