For the second year in a row The Performing Arts Alliance of Rural Tennessee (PAART) is bringing back Celtic powerhouse Coyote Run for two nights in December at the Palace Theatre in downtown Crossville.
Coyote Run, based in Williamsburg, VA, will bring their signature holiday show – A Kilted Christmas! – to the Palace Dec. 1 and 2 at 7 p.m. A Kilted Christmas! is an ecumenical, Celtic and quirky Christmas show that is perfect family fare. This concert will feature both popular and original holiday music, Irish Step Dancers and guest artists, all set within a dramatic narrative. The concert is at once funny, sacred, get-up-and-dance and filled with the warmth of the holiday season. Given that their founder and lead singer has been a professor for many years, it is no surprise that this band has come to be known as “the thinking person’s Celtic Rock band.”
"Coyote Run is great on a couple of levels, instrumentally and vocally, but they also give insights to literature, time and place, and history that often are forgotten today. Coyote Run makes you listen and makes you think. In the current climate that is a very, very good thing."

Bagpipes, guitars, accordion, whistles, didgeridoo, electric bass, killer drums, and much more greet the audience at a Coyote Run concert. Something in the alchemical mix of the players and their unique backgrounds creates a seamless, adrenaline filled show that never lets up. From the growling, rhythmic drones of the didgeridoo, to the rich, polyrhythm of the drums, to the intricate bass lines, the wailing lead guitar, the filigree of the accordion, the triumph of the bagpipes and the lyrical whimsy of the whistles, this is a band that is unlike any other and is not soon forgotten.
A Kilted Christmas is sponsored by Gwin Realty, 5731 Peavine Road, Crossville and Premier Applause, Inc of Indialantic, FL.
