CROSSVILLE —
The Swingabillies band has one foot in the past and one foot in the future. This band has roots from deep in the heart of the Delta Land. One of the band members was raised in Memphis during the rock explosion. These East Tennesee boys bring mountain soul to their music.
Their new CD, "Just Another Night Down The Rockabilly Highway," is a music mix for all ages. Their title song tells the story of Tennessee Highway U.S. 45, the legendary Highway now known as "The Rockabilly Highway." This CD is rockin' from the remake of Eddie Bond's "Bear Huntin With a Switch," about legendary west Tennessee Sherriff Beauford Pusser, to heartfelt songs like the story of Sam Philips the founder of Sun Records in Memphis, penned the night after Rock and Roll King Carl Perkins died. This Rockabilly music is almost all original.
Band members Earl, David, Trevor, Brent, and Johnny will be quick to tell you, "Rockabilly is the heart of Rock and Roll." Catch the Swingabillies New Year's Eve at the Cumberland County Community Complex along with the Texas Troubadores, and a long list of great entertainers.

'Georgia Songbird' coming to Palace June 7 for First Friday performance
EG Kight, “the Georgia Songbird,” is bringing her Country-Flavored Southern-Fried Blues back to Crossville’s Palace Theatre. Kight’s 2011 First Fridays performance garnered rave reviews from all in attendance with many of those audience members requesting an encore performance. GRITS coming to Palace May 31
Highly acclaimed band GRITS From Dumplin Valley will perform at Historic Palace Theatre on May 31 beginning at 7 p.m. Chris Marion, longtime keyboardist for world famous Little River Band, will join GRITS. Chris sometimes performs with GRITS when not on the road with LRB. A rising young talent from Nashville, Shelby Terrell, will start things off with a solo show.
